Black Libyans fear for their lives

Libya is home to a large minority of black Libyans, many of whom supported Muammar Gaddafi, the former leader, and some who fought on his side against the rebel uprising.

But since Gaddafi’s government was ousted from power, entire communities of black Libyans have disappeared without a clear reason, leaving virtual ghost towns behind. 

Al Jazeera’s Anita McNaught reports from one such town, Tawergha, where remaining members of the community fear for their lives.

Some of us were already talking and demonstrating about this when Al Jazeera (and much of the Western left) was cheerleading the pro-imperialist Libyan “rebels” last year.

Let’s call this what it really is: racist death squads, armed and trained by U.S., British, and French imperialism and their Qatari proxies, carrying out genocide against Black Libyans as a central part of their campaign of white terror to wipe out the remaining support for an independent Libya.

This is the “revolution” that the U.S. and NATO want to carry out in Syria (and Iran, and etc.).
